Igorrr

Igorrr, also known as a french man, also known as Gautier Serre, is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from.. yeah, France.
Did I mention that he's french?

To me, he's got a whole different sound than most Breakcore producers I know, and the reason for that might be because it sounds more organic and non-programmed. Instead of using synthesizers that you instantly recognize as computer made, he uses samples of real sounding instruments, be it programmed or recorded.

It's a blend of opera-singing, contrabas, harpsichord in baroque style, classical guitars, pianos, woodwinds, and sometimes even full orchestras. Now, mix that with growling, splattering death metal samples and epic hiphop/jazz/metal influenced drum programmings, and you've got Igorrr.
Just the whole sound and mix is different as it sounds like everything has a filter effect on it like it has been recorded off of old vinyl records with all the hum and crackle, yet the production is very clear and up front.
However I'd have to admit that I sometimes think the way he builds the songs can be somewhat poor.

Anyways here's one of my favorite songs of his. It's a song called Phasme Obèse and it's from his album Moisissure from 2008. Notice how he uses and automate the reverb on the drums. The way he let the reverb tastefully swell, mute and pulsate to the beat is goddamn genious!

That album is available for free download at the label Acroplane here.

Damn, I'm excited for his new album! It's called Nostril and should be out Sept/Oct this year.
He's got two new songs uploaded on his myspace that I believe could be on that record. They're called Thermostat 7 and Melting Nails. Both of those songs sounds amazing to me. A lot better than many of his previous songs.

Rrrrrright... He's french, he's great, he's Igorrr. Listen to his music, while you enjoy the disturbing and class A artwork of his.
Over and out!
